    you could probably keep it two colors by having just one red, and halftoning the back of the banner a black texture (rather than gray)

    Yea, definitely. The thought crossed my mind and I could easily do that if the client wanted to do it as a two color print.

    You could also consider printing the fornt of the banner as gray with he anchor layer, then flashing it and using one red. That would make the front of the banner look brighter and the rest of he rest of the read look dark.
