I remember that, too. I think there was a stir-up about it, but eventually, everyone stopped caring.

Actually, as wrong as it may seem the language on this t-shirt is correct, most of us could use a history lesson. The Nazi's actually adopted tons of various symbols from different cultures and used them as their own, for example... the swastika. Another example would be the "SS" which is actually derived from a Nordic rune symbolizing "sun". American culture is very ignorant in recognizing things such as this, people see a swastika and immediately think "nazi". Although I would never wear a shirt with a swastika, and I think companies like the shirt above are trying to immaturely capitalize on shock value, these symbols haven't always been associated with negativity.

I have a tattoo of the viking skull of the Norse god Odin on my arm, with the "Othala Rune" or "Odin rune" on the helmet. Nazi's have also adopted that symbol into their culture...to try and tie their history with ancient Norse mythology. Most wouldn't even recognize the symbol at all, but to those who recognize it negatively need to be educated.

I agree in terms of America. Turn a swastika 45 degrees and it becomes a completely different symbol. However, it's fairly well-known that southeast Asia (Philippines, Indonesia, etc.) has this weird obsession with Hitler/Nazism. That said, the designer of those two tees is using the SS symbol as a Nazi reference rather than as the Nordic sun rune.

No it doesn't explain anything. Your design is stupid and offensive. Why do some Indonesians not seem to understand what is socially acceptable?

It's the culture. Apparently, they've moved from Hitler to the KKK.
