All these pictures leaking lately, what does everyone think?

I try to hate them, but im just so excited to see a new turtle movie that i don't care...

Not what i expected, but i don't think they look THAT bad. Im pretty stoked on it.

  • Eureka!!!

first poster looks meh, not sure what to think. I like how they look kinda raggedy or more like they came from a sewer

Was waiting for someone to make this thread! =)

I'm not really a fan of, or excited about, anything I'm seeing. Don't really like any of the character designs. Shredder probably being the worst/most over the top. The turtles are a bit "over-accessorized." But, oh well. Honestly, it took me a little while to get over the shock of the turtles being so different looking. But that's kind of settled in my brain now. I guess I'll reserve final judgment until I see a them moving and talking.

But as Kyle pointed out to me - Small changes are bound to happen. These aren't going to be the turtles we grew up with. But better them being over-accessorized and wearing clothes than having their origins/back-story completely changed.

I just hope we don't get another Transformers turd...

I am most worried about the writing and directing.....

I don't mind the clothes and stuff because it actually reminds me of the random turtles they would release after the first initial ones where raph would be wearing a basketball jersey or the trenchcoat stuff etc haha. Those were too fun. But, i can understand why some people are kinda put off about it.

I don't mind shredder, but im not really that big on his face region. I think it looks too alien like, which is what i didn't want. Super shredder was cool and over the top at the same time. I actually like the overall look just not the face.

Hoping the trailer just comes with the heat and gets everyone pumped.
  • Orcusbrand

Turtles look great to me. Someone needs to slap whoever made that poster.

  • RONIN78

Shredder looks hard as hell, man they all look good.
  • justinbryant

I have to be honest when I say I was really feeling discouraged about this film when I heard Michael Bay was at the helm and he cast Megan Fox as April. We hadn't gotten a look at the turtles, and then that dreadful halloween costume was leaked and I practically had a melt down. Yes, I know it is a kids halloween costume, but that being the first look at the turtles, I was crushed.

Finally, some faith was restored when I saw the photo of Leonardo and the photo of Donatello. The turtles look bad ass. My wallet is ready for some scaled statues for my office. Yes, I would rather some of the accessories be taken off, but overall I was excited about what I was seeing. Plus, I'm sure the accessories will make sense in the film.

Not a fan of Shredder's face, but the rest is pretty awesome.

Counting down the days for a trailer...

Didn't they change the origins/back story?! It's just called Ninja Turtles, because supposedly they aren't mutants, but aliens, and they aren't teenagers either. I'm much more worried about the story than what the turtles look like. I actually think they look kind of cool.

I remember hearing that early on, but I think they scraped that idea? I dunno. I haven't been following the script stuff very closely. (where's Kyle? I'm sure he knows, haha.)

But yeah I agree that the story/writing is the most crucial thing.

It's weird... I get more ok with the new looks of the turtles everyday. Definitely had a big knee-jerk reaction at first. Things could be WAY worse though, hahah.
  • jumpy

poster reminds me of these guys

  • Sushilove

If Michael Bay wasn't behind it I would be more excited... he ruined Transformers.
There's a bit of hope since he isn't directing, who knows, but those turtle designs...

Also I noticed that in the poster they are called 'ninja turtles'... no 'teenage', no 'mutant'...
  • JeremyRichie

Like everyone else said. The poster is garbage. I've already decided there's no way this movie will ruin the turtles for me. In all honesty I'm hoping Bay redeems himself for royally fucking up Transformers.

Who cares about the Transformers, let's hope he redeems himself for ruining the Samsung presentation!
  • Jason Carne

    Everything about this looks terrible.
  • ForWhomTheBellTolls

I was hearing a lot of weird shit about this that made me pretty sour on it at first, the alien origin story, bay's involvement, some of the casting. But after seeing the marquettes...

I'm getting psyched! I think they look really good, a solid update in terms of making them fit into the real world and to give them more individual character and depth. It also makes sense that they would look a bit scrappy since they live in the sewer, and also they they would all dress differently, since they have very clearly defined character traits. Having them just differentiated by the colour of their masks is ok for animation (is it's hard and time consuming to draw really different, detailed characters over and over), but not for a film set in the real world, along side live action actors.

I'm really interested to see how they move, and also how the action will be treated. Not a big fan of Bay's robo junk fight scenes in the transformers films, all close up and hard to decipher, so hopefully it's more like a kung fu film with awesome choreography and brutal hits.
  • ENDOR

    Michelangelo looks like Gollum :)

  • Matt Borchert

is that the adult version of this?

  • Kyle Crawford

    heres my thoughts on everything.
    for starters
I like what bay did with transformers, EXCEPT the second one, PURE TRASH. I also didnt really like the street slang autobot, but other than that, I think it's awesome. You see, I like the kind of movies that are, action packed, funny, nerdy, have some kind of sci fi comic book element, in 1 movie, the first and 3rd transformers have that. I like to compare them to the first men in black. That movie rules. One of my all time favorites.

that being said, bay has nothing to really do with this movie.
so who knows how it will be.
the whole face of shredder thing. Its a mask, even the weird eyes. You can see where the eyeholes / areas are. I think hes supposed to look gross and scary. I think that krang is going to give him this technology, yes, I heard krang is in this movie, which, I am excited to see

its super alien / hi techish

I personally dont mind the whole look of the turtles
it gives them more character than just the bandana colors. Im not sure about the shoes and perfectly stuck on shoulder pads, but whatever.

I also talked to eastman at a comic con for a good 5 mins about the movie. he said it was awesome, and crazy over the top, but, he didnt like that shredder was white and said, what can you do? they always change something. He also said he has a cameo near the end of the film

People can bitch and complain all they want. I mean look at xmen, they dont have their crazy costumes. But everyone sees the movies and they are mostly awesome. I think its going to be great. I mean, these guys arent making ANYONE happy, they dont look like any shape or form of the turtles at all. the 4 year olds who watch the current show, and the 30 whatevers like me and younger (or older) arent happy about it either. I like it, and personally cant wait to see it
  • itcamefromthesky

I think it's too early to call it right now. We can see that with the inconsistencies involved in these photos.

All that aside, Megan Fox as April is straight retarded.
  • ForWhomTheBellTolls

Matt Borchert said:is that the adult version of this?

    No, this was.

I still loved it as a kid though.

I don't get why it is retarded? Who else to better play a 2 dimensional character?
  • disembodied head

Erm, no. this has to be the dumbest reboot in the history of dumb reboots imho

Mikey looks super freaky, possibly related to Shrek.
  • 8-bit ZOMBIE

And here's the full length teaser trailer:

  • DanielAndHisArt

I think it looks amazing. Too many people are on the " omg michael bay sucks" bandwagon to enjoy the trailer. Turtles look rad as hell to me. I think it's cool they are massive looking to. They actually look like they could beat the fuck out of some foot soldiers. I'm stoked on it.
  • 8-bit ZOMBIE

I agree, this is the first TMNT movie EVER where the turtles look like they can actually kick some ass. I love that they are buff & burly too. So cool.

I've got my fingers crossed that this one is gonna make up for all the other recent 80's toy/cartoon franchise failures.
  • Setup85

Man they look weirdly awesome and HUGE! Hell yea.
  • Tom Philibeck

I'd be surprised if it's any better than any of the Transformers movies. Looks alright.
  • DCAY

    I'm finally sold.
Okay... it's painfully obvious that all of us hardcore TMNT fans are going to have several issues with the movie once it comes out. But after seeing this trailer, I'm officially excited again. I mean, the end with Mikey talking to April is hilarious to me. I laughed out loud each time I watch it (and in less than an hour I definitely watched it more than once)! I feel like a lil kid again watching that part. Of course I hate the acting choices for April, Shredder, etc. but it's just something you have to look past in order to have fun with this.

Would anyone rather have a 2014 Turtle movie with Jim Henson Creature Shop costumes? Now that is something I think EVERYONE would be bitching over.
  • Sam Kaufman

I agree with DCAY. Made me feel like a kid again and I think it looks great. Who cares if they changed the story a bit, I'm excited to see where it goes.
  • PitchGrim

Not if they had the right team (Guillermo Del Toro).

I'm not 100% sold but I am still very excited to see it for the very reason you guys have said. It definitely gives me that "kid again" early Saturday morning cartoons kind of excitement so I guess I am sold. Hope it's good.

Same here! I also remember a lot of people thinking the "TMNT" animated movie not looking good and that the turtles looked to "kid like" but I thought it was really good, entertaining, funny and emotional. Kinda like all turtle movies have been.

I will be at this movie, day of it's release and will go along for any ride it takes me on.
  • Kyle Crawford

I wrote a blog and posted about it
