Hey guys,

My lovely girlfriend and I decided to make a brand together as a girls brand to my current one Bear Knuckle Brawlers.

5 minutes in and we are already arguing about things haha, Anyway it's pretty fun and something i have never done before so take a look at our first release.

Two custom horror leggings in time for Halloween! Would be nice if you guys had a look and spread the word.

Cheers
Glen

Sweet that you're doing it together ^.^ Cool tights too.

Are you looking for feedback? Some notes below from me - take and leave what works for you.

In terms of the products, the jewellery looks a little out of place - like imported pieces. Which makes me wonder if the tights are imported? You're clearly a creative couple, why not make some of your own jewellery instead? Something that works better with the tights e.g. (or whatever imagery suits your target market/brand identity).

And then just work at feeding some of that style back into the web design. The tight designs are all about imagery saturation, but the website is very plain.

i agree with Ella Mobbs, the tights were dope but quickly changed my option after going to your sight and seeing the jewelry that looked as if you didnt make it. You've got something pick your niche before branching out tho

Right now you have a hobby. It's not a "brand." Research what a brand means.

Five objects do not make a company. Copy and pasting images that already exist and adding color does not make products.

People will not spread the word about your hobby until it is up to the standards of a reputable company. You're asking people to put their reputations on the line for possibly having good taste and a sense of style. At the current state of your objects and website it will prove to be difficult to accomplish the task of branching out.

The leggings are patterns I made from old horror posters and characters. So no, they are not a import. The jewellery is yea and we have some other custom items of jewellery in process but couldn't get a y made in time for Halloween.

Those two designs are purely a Halloween drop. The website is meant to be clean and east to use, there is a few more pages being added too.

And yea.... For someone that has 2 other brands and a full time job, this is a hobby until it becomes bigger. My girlfriend is out of work so instead of getting a shitty job we thought it would be nice to work for herself for a change.

I think your comment is well.... I think you didn't quite read the part saying its a side company to my company Bear Knuckle Brawlers sure starting out, but saying you won't put your rep on the line. I'm sure we will live without it thanks. I've never heard of you before not even on mintees and I've been here since the beginning. But I appreciate you piping in.

Trying to keep the website very plain and its a theme to save time and its easy for my gf to edit.

That's the worst response you could have come up with. You didn't say side "company." What does it matter if you have heard of me or not? And I'm telling you PEOPLE won't want to rep your project until it's up to the standard of doing so. I clearly will not be and it's not about me.

Thanks for the hipster comment of being here since the beginning. Ever heard of Emptees? I'll send your award in the mail tomorrow! Done. Good luck!

What difference does it make whether he calls it a side brand or side company? Who are you to say that people won't buy their products? Both the leggings and jewelry are highly wearable and up to trend. I've only been here a couple of years, but I've never heard of you either. Much more could be said about your work, so chill.

Awesome that you're working towards getting some custom jewellery! Hopefully you'll be able to phase out the import stuff when you get the ball rolling there.

Understandable that the code is simple for editing - what about using some of the imagery from the tights to make a background on the body? Just to bring over some of that delightful richness in.

Looking forward to seeing it all develop. Thanks for sharing.

Well that was unpleasant and whiny. If your reputation is so fragile that promoting something other than some socially agreed upon/approved company shatters it, you've got bigger problems than your supposed lack of good taste and a sense of style.

With that said - this is not my thing at all, but keep on keeping on, there's a market for it.

Some of the girls I hang with would be all over those leggings. I'll send them your way. Good luck with it.
  • ThirstyFly

Looks good, and I love the logo and name. Fresh. Hopefully you will add some tanks and cropped tees, like the one I saw in UO yesterday that made me feel super old:

It's also very cool to see someone kick off something for girls/women. All anyone around here cares about is boys, boys, boys, ha ha. You might want to add some girly-sort-of-jewelry, too, like more delicate. The ring, while cool, seems like it's for a badass biker or something. Best of luck with it.

    Cheers guys.

@thirstyFly the whole brand is meant to be a leggings only. Then we had the idea of doing accessories and tunic vests to go with them. Hence the import accessories, they were a bit of an after thought however we have some pretty cool logo enamel debossed necklaces on order so they will hopefully be ready before xmas sales start. I've never really dealt to much in custom made stuff with having a printing company so having to wait so long for samples and finishing of products is killing me!

I totally understand it's not everyones cup of tea. If i had made a brand like that i would be a millionaire haha but it's early stages and as i said i've never done girls clothing before so it's very new territory, quite exciting though.
