Alrighty, I'm releasing a texture pack for a VERY limited time of 14 days (when the free hosting expires!) for just $3.99. I thought the price that some people were charging for good texture packs was pretty insane, so I decided to devote a weekend to destroying some stuff and creating a very high resolution, and very usable texture pack specifically suited to apparel. All the letters of the image were given texture using items from the pack, and there were still a few textures left over.

So, grab it while it's hot, and I greatly appreciate any support sent my way! If this goes very well and I can justify the hosting expense, more will come in the future.

So here it is! 26 textures, $3.99

Thanks dudes! I think there is some super neat stuff in there, and I made the files nice and big when I scanned them in so hopefully there won't ever be a need to scale them up more.

Also this weekend I'll do a little youtube video of how to use the channels to select the colors as opposed to using color range in case anyone uses the color range method and wants a way to do it that's a lot more precise.

But thanks for the feedback, keep it coming!

That would be amazing! I just did a color separation for a friend based off of a drawing that she did and I had the hardest time getting PS to pick up all of the details using color range. I remember learning how to use channels to do it a long time ago in school but I've since forgotten and couldn't quite get that to work either, haha

Getting back into this art stuff after stopping for so long is super hard. =(

Thanks man! I really appreciate it!

And to AngrySpade, a lot of stuff does get a bit fuzzy when you step out of design for a while, so I'll definitely get that video up on Saturday in the morning sometime and post it in this thread. It will just be a quick vid about pulling colors using channels, then using layer masks to apply the distress, and levels to tweak the masks themselves. With those few things you can really do a lot.

Thanks Deekin! And AngrySpade - I just found some software to film my screen so I should be good to go to have it up this weekend when I actually have some time =)

Just a quick update that the video tutorial on channels / masks / distress will be up today.

Here is the video, pardon my nerdyness, hope it makes sense! If you're using color range to select simple black and whites I suggest checking it out. (and yes, I use windows at home, chea!)

(also I was being a total idiot and said option + click instead of command + click..but I don't feel like re-doing this, so I just added in some captions)

You're a lifesaver! In retrospect I feel like an idiot after seeing how simple the channels method really is, but hey, you live and you learn! haha

    Thanks again Matt!

Thanks man! Glad it makes sense, I never know if it sounds like I'm talking total rubbish or not (in this case by saying option instead of command all the time =)

    But the feedback is appreciated!
