Yeah but I don't think people are hyping a ton yet. Might be waiting to make sure all of the bugs are worked out before blasting the social sites. (That's what I'm doing) Plus I think the initial glitches kinda put a damper on everything. I think things will get more heated tomorrow and Thurs. It's still just the beginning!

Stoked the site is working now.

I agree. We are hitting it pretty hard though. We have some heavy hitters on the bench though we are holding off for the next few rounds.

heavy hitters are nice but make people really upset. happened to me last year and i didn't even ask for the help and it made people claim i cheated.

Seems like that's the name of the game though. Guess it comes with the territory. I've even been pushing some other brands.

It is basically a promotion and following contest. Which is fine. It is pushing brand owners to spread awarness of their brand and not rely soley on "my shirts are cooler than yours" type of mindset.
    • popmonkey

I'm not even going to try pushing and promoting this until these bugs are worked out. I don't want to frustrate my fans and turn them off to voting in further rounds if I proceed.

      Ha one of my favorites!

There are so many boring as hell brand descriptions that talk about life, lifestyle, expression, uniqueness, creativity, etc... Ha kind of makes me instantly not like them for some reason.

Looking forward to seeing this contest progress!

As Jeff said, all of the bugs have been confirmed fixed and we have had no complaints since we fixed everything this am. The only thing that will continue to happen from time to time is the "fail whale" but that isn't really a bug but more of just like what happens to Twitter, the site will get overloaded and go down for a min or two then be back up. And just like Twitter, there isn't much we can do about that! haha But yeah, you should feel more than fine about promoting now, though! :)
    • dobi

i hate hate hate brands that say their shirts are part of a "lifestyle"

sorry if i offend any friends with brands that say that, i might like your products. but c'mon.
    • Killer Napkins

Haha exactly.. sounds pretentious or something.

HA I just realized you were up against the lifestyle brand.

Nothing is ever decided till the end. Some of the lopsided battles tend to get super close. It really depends when the brand starts making their push for votes.
    • dobi

not only pretentious, but as if t-shirts take on some greater meaning. sure, there is an artform to this, sure, they can display messages and be a part of a lifestyle, but SAYING that they are part of a lifestyle is like calling yourself "punk"

This is the best way I've heard this put.
    • 8-bit ZOMBIE

^^^Hahah. Yeah I'd have to agree. Reading that stuff feels like Peter Takis is holding seminar in my brain. It all just turns to "Blahblahblahblahblah..." and doesn't even tell you anything about the brand.
    • dobi

yeah, i mean the lifestyle has to accept your brand before you can call it part of that lifestyle. and even then, admitting you are part of that lifestyle instantly negates your cred.

kind of like when a pizza place opens and calls themselves "luigi's famous pizza"

motherfucker, you haven't been open for a week and you are calling your pizza famous? get real.

I'm no math expert...but the numbers shown in the matchups and the percentages shown in the voting lightbox are not matching up by my calculation. Is there some kind of delay on one updating as opposed to the other? It seems to me that the numbers on the bracket are slow to update. We've gone from 25% to 46% in the last 30 mins but our number has gone from 25 to 29 while Galleria has gone from 111-114.

Yes and yes. Some of the numbers delay because the site is being cached (to help from overload crashing). Also, some games jump faster than others because those brands are promoting back and forth more.

And the %'s are right but you just can't really see the difference. Those %'s actually go to like 25.________% but all you see if the rounded out whole number. So, sometimes a game can actually "look" like it's 50%/50% but obviously if you looked at the full % (which we see on our end), it could actually be like 50.2% & 50.8%.

Does that make sense? That is very important especially when it gets to wire at the end of a round. Just because you see one thing on the site, there is a solid 20-30 delay with the cache where it could be a different result, but that also plays into the madness and fun! You don't know until the announcement of the winners and next round! :D

Excellent. Good to hear everything is working solidly as far as that's concerned.

Has anyone else had issues with posting it to facebook still? I've found out the link can only be posted as text, not as a link with a thumbnail. No idea why, but it's like that for both the voting lightbox url and the main site url. Any thoughts?

At first it didnt work but without the thumbnail it does work

however if you tried to post with the thumbnail once it screws it up and you need to refresh or start over.

Another thing I did was made the post something like "vote for me" and then comment the status with all the info and links

Yup. Also, I just fixed your bracket game. And confirmed everyone else's was right. I had the wrong ID on the bracket portion for your game and La Muerta's game (which I had fixed earlier). So, you were right, it WAS actually displaying the votes for 'F*ck Your Hustle (FYH) VS Doin Fine (DF)'. So, that was my bad but I just now fixed it to display the right stats (this doesn't hurt your voting or change anything, so no worries).

But what I said above, still applies as far as the caching goes and the % stuff. So, it's good you brought that up, either way! :)
    • This Is Local Love

^yeah been trying a few different workarounds to make it possible, it's just not as visually appealing. People see a long link, nothing attached and 90% are like "no thanks". Oh the digital age....

Not really all too important, but why is there an option to like TeeMadness on Facebook (on your site) yet there is no actual page on Facebook?

When you click 'like' it displays it on Facebook to others as a link to our web site. We don't have (or really need) a TeeMadness Facebook page since it's run by me and Adam, through IAMTHETREND. So, we would rather direct people to the site with the link button then take 2 steps and go through a Facebook page! So it pops up like this on Facebook: http://d.pr/jMS1! :)

I'm really enjoying seeing what others are doing with their brand. I even bought some stuff from people that I didn't know about. If anything the exposure is a great benefit to us all.
