we have a laser engraver ( it'll cut 1/4 wood), and the sanders and everything. we was wondering if we wanted to go about in house producing wooden sunglasses. how would we get templates, or can you make your own? thanks in advance

first off.. your asking on a t-shirt site about laser engravers.

Secondly, your asking a question that if you are asking, you probably are gonna have a hard time producing.

You could search for sunglass templates on various 3d sites or cad sites. Laser engravers can work off cad or some people run them with illustrator. Just get some fake raybans, break them apart and draw each piece in illustrator. You'll have to get lenses that fit into the glasses so find lenses before you go and make 5000 pairs of frames. You'll also need hinges.

In the mean time check out this site http://www.shwoodshop.com/

    Good luck :)

For the record I tried on a pair of the Shwoodshop sunnies the other day at a boutique and they are surprisingy comfortable.

i've heard that they are actually very comfortable. and im not copying anyone. if thats the case then businesses like Woodzee, Capitol, and Proof deserve a spanking huh? thats retarded

ZaneGun08 has the right idea as far as where to start. Hopefully you decided to partner with another company or get some professional help though. I just got myself a pair of wooden sunglasses from a new company called Rooted Shade http://www.rootedshade.com ... maybe that's you and you figured it out! :)
