What type of business is this?
  • BCHC

Everything about it looks good to me.
  • WinterArtwork

That train is really well done, it has just the right amount of detail!
  • Balefire

There's pretty much nothing I don't like about this. Maybe just the M in this type face is kind of standing out, but it is the middle letter and it kind of balances it out too, so even that isn't something I would change.
  • Rowan

    Looks solid.
  • kayas

    check;
what a concept? do you visualized locomotive as locomotive literally?
as technically look awesome, just a litbit perspective and kerning :)

  • CASTLE

totally solid logo. I like it
  • bleet

Id like to see more of the identity, as a logo its strong. Im not sure if the type is as strong as the Icon. Think if it had to get smaller the M would be unreadable. Have you applied this to anything yet? Is so show us please. Im interested to see your process
  • gaunty

    Works for me.

    awesome!

These small tweaks would improve greatly, great eye kayas.

    very nice logo.

Is there meant to be that tiny white speck at the back of the chimney?

I think the logo is awesomely clean and the text is complimentary.

But is the train coming that way really representative, not sure if you follow football but brighton changed their logo from a seagull flying backwards to a new one flying forwards, showing progressing and 'moving in the right direction' essentially.

Interesting to see what it looks flipped (bet it looks crap) but who knows!
  • miles to go

I really dig it and since it's for an Internet solutions company, it won't need to be used really small. Smallest may be a business card as I doubt they will be needing avatars and such. I like the concept of the train busting out of the tunnel as it implies moving toward what's new.
  • Yellowdog

is that a tunnel or a chimney?

if a tunnel, I would suggest making it bigger as from 2 perspectives got 2 diff ideas
  • dobi

looks slick. might work if the end of the E was completely straight to go w/ the shape of the train

  • WinterArtwork

WOW! Thanks for all the great feedback guys!

text has always been my weakness so I thought I'd ask the pros

@bleet - it's mainly going to be used for the website and business cards

@Kayas @Dobi @Yellowdog - definitely going to try out your suggestions!

    cool edit dobi

looking forward to seeing more of these , really like this , ya good good luck with light man
  • Sam Weinberg

At first I thought it was a big stapler haha. but it's good, has a nice feel to it
  • ExodusThreeTwelve

What's up man? Maybe you could make the front of the train resemble the end of an ethernet cord? (to tie in the internet solutions aspect)
  • Jake DL

    i like it, nicely done
  • DESIGNByRDS

timeless and well done. nice job.
  • chad manzo

dude, it's solid. Dobi's point is spot on.
  • Jupit

while you're at it: why not align the back of the "L" with the line above it?
similar to the change to the "E", if you know what I mean.
  • Yellowdog

You make sense Jupit. But im not understanding this lark about the E. Am I being thick?

graphically it looks great. it's just kind of boring in that there is no concept. the name is locomotive: so the logo is a locomotive. It would be great to see this somehow showcasing how the term "locomotive" ties in to their strengths in the field of internet solutions. Basically anything that takes this from being just a great train company logo to something that communicates more about the business.

some really good points. i failed to read the point where it was an IT related company though.
  • Yellowdog

@skull maybe a window with a guy on his laptop with a huge grin on his face because he managed to get wireless signal the whole way through the tunnel.

Im liking the new colour, much fresher. The subtle white is a winner.
  • WinterArtwork

I feel you but I gotta follow orders on this one :/
  • Yellowdog

End of the day im pretty sure you have gone above the brief they had set out and they will cream their pants when they see the finished logo. I kinda feel it wouldn't be too far out of place as an NHL emblem.

i find a clients from a non creative field usually give flat direction. I appease them with their requests, then take it further with some stronger options for them to look at. The response is generally fantastic.

no, it's me. maybe I should have just used Dobi's line "might work if the L was completely aligned to go w/ the shape of the train"

    last version looks great, WA!

Eh, I think you could look at that two ways really. I get what you're saying, but there are tons of successful companies that have branding that has nothing to do directly with their products/services. I agree it would be stronger having some sort of tie in to the internet solutions biz, but this is a pretty strong graphic as it stands. I assume wherever this is used the words "Internet Solutions" will surely follow, so most likely no one will ever be in the dark about what they do.
