the fact that you deleted your book thread in response to some mild skepticism is kinda suspect. Nothing i read was even slightly rude or confrontational. you may have "tons of book sales" but you probably need to develop a thicker skin before putting yourself out there.

Someone was talking about books? Where was I?
  • bmoore

i was wondering where it went. i didn't get a chance to read it.
  • Alejandro Prez

I didn't see the thread but I saw some bitching on twitter and wondered what happened.

Book by 16 yr old fella who's got his own clothing brand launches a book on how to help other 16 yr olds make the same amount of money he does. And with some questiony questions thrown at him, he deleted his thread and here we are.

I personally think he's doing well for himself, and it's good but dunno think it's not really the right time for him. "After a couple months and BLAM" Doesn't sound like a convincing book..
  • miles to go

Oh. At 16, it's easy to convert success into ego. He seems to be doing well for his age but as for writing a book, it seems a bit early. What kind of numbers is this kid pushing a month in sales? Maybe he is book worthy once he cracks $500k in a year.

For those who didn't see, peters thread...

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hey guys!

So I get countless emails every day from young people wanting to start a business of their own.

That got me thinking, and I started writing like crazy.

Fast forward a few months and I'm finally ready to officially release: "Ambitious Youth: 4 keys to doing big things at a young age.

I know this book is NOT for most of you but I thought id post it for any young people on here.

This eBook is full of great 'TEEN SPECIFIC' content and costs just $1.99.
Also, Ambitious Youth will be available on iBooks and Kindle early June.

    Buy --> http://bit.ly/ambitiousyouth

Damn, that takes some balls to feel confident enough to release something like that. Maybe he's smarter than us and we should have done the same thing.
  • Husky

It's just that rush of "things going so well let me go conquer EVERYTHING"

That was Skull with Hair's point, the fella's book front-page says "how to make real money" and Skull w/Hair was like what is real money if you've got no living costs n blah...so yeah..

i wasn't even saying that he didn't have living costs, i was just asking because he wouldn't say either way. he proceeded to say he has had an overwhelmingly positive response to his book and "tons of book sales" and wouldn't elaborate on that either. im not looking for his social security number, just something that sets him apart financially from any other fucker on this site.
  • miles to go

That's a solid point by swh. I'm doing alright and as someone with real life bills, I don't feel like I'm making "real money". Enough to pay my bills comfortably but not buy a house or supoort a family and vacation in the south of france or anything.

Apparently not, it seems to be full of grammatical errors.

Way to judge someone, it's that kind of attitude that will never get anyone anywhere.
    .

But it's true isn't it? When things go well don't we think to give everything else a go and expect success? I said before, I think he's doing well for himself and has a good mind-set. He's just rushing things.

"After applying my once secret 9 step plan, AmbitiousYouth.com now receives over 15,000 hits per month and generates $1000.00 per month in ad revenue. I did all this in just 3 months while following the 9 step plan I’ll share with you below"

damn! if he is pulling that kind of bank off of 15,000 hits a month, maybe I should pick up this book, because IATT does triple that a month in hits and half that in revenue!

I don't know if that's sarcasm, but I agree. He's putting out a lot and it's all positive from what I've seen. A lot of people here could learn from that.

I'm all for this kid making good money and having pma and ambition at such a young age. I think writing a book about success when you've released under 10 shirts is jumping the gun quite a bit. Success is hard to judge without sustainability and he hasn't been around long enough to know if he has that. His ambition and drive is there and I'm sure he wills straighten himself out over time.

he deleted his Nova Networking thread too. never answered my question of how you can guarantee a 100 followers in 48 hours to clients. i was just curious.

And I was in the midst of posting a comment on it too. Bleh, it was a good, constructive comment -.-

LOL, true, true. I think I am up to make like $2 an hour for what I put into IATT!

All this being said, I think saying that he is writing a "book" is a bit of a reach. To me it looks like a 50 page collection of tips for being successful, for less than $2. It's not like out of nowhere he is releasing a book like Threads Not Dead for $50. He has been pretty successful at a young age and for $2 for some insight to some other teens might be a good resource.

Funny thing is, we're still advertising it now lol
  • MetalHand

I would say to the kid keep pushing yourself, keep writing stuff even if you didn't perfectly executed this time or the next time. I am gonna buy the eBook to see what a 16 year old have to say about making a business and profit rather than playing WoW 5 hours a day, also to appreciate the time and effort made.

Not to Make it Rain MOTHAFUCKA.

i have mixed feelings on it as well.

i have run a somewhat successful brand for the better part of 7 years now and i'd feel nowhere near confident releasing a book about having it all figured out at 30, much less 16.

i think being that young makes you awfully defensive when people start questioning stuff. when i was 16 i was more concerned about zits and ska shows, i couldn't imagine people twice my age questioning my work.
  • sonar

he is a good kid, he is working hard and stuff is working for him, but he needs to grow a thicker skin, if he would have just answered the questions and stood up to any "haters" thing would've been just fine

    I'm confused though

He wrote an entire book at 16?

    How long is it?
  • Dr_Worm

It shouldn't be called a 'book'. more a collection of tips he found useful.. as Adam said.
He needs to learn that not EVERYTHING will go his way. a comment he received as negative should be taken as something to learn from and get perspective.

Dude I have picture books longer than that :|

Glad to see someone finally questioned Peter. I give him tons of credit for his ambition, but it's pretty annoying to constantly see "hey guys, a store stocked me!", hey guys, I'm speaking at an event nobody's heard of!" For owning a company for under a year, I find it hard to claim success in the real world.
  • Divine Beast

It's so refreshing to see the not so positive side of Mintees.
  • David Merritt

Can't knock em for what he's doing though. He's hustlin at 16. I think it's great.

It's a $2 book. Come on! Cut the guy some slack.

I mean he's excited about what he's doing. He has given artists here work. He may be a bit immature or whatever, but I was too at 16. I agree that he should have kept his thread up and let people speak their opinion, but whatever. No sweat off my balls. Why do y'all care SOO much? Try to keep it positive.
