I printed some poly mailers for a local brand called On Front Street today. They originally wanted to go with a yellow print for the bag but we both agreed that a metallic gold would be way more classier so we decided to run with that instead. I had the ink laying around for a while and I really wanted to try it out but at the same time wanted them to try something different for their brand as well. The black poly bags with a metallic gold ink was an idea I had that came from the original packaging that Playboy or Hustler magazines used to come in (or still do?) But anyway we totally pulled off that “porno mag packaging” feel which was my bright idea and I thought I would share with you guys.

I've been screen printing for close to six years now and have just recently moved up to doing packaging. Its one of those things that most brands don't really think is a big deal (On Front Street was sending tees out in Flat Rate envelopes before they approached me) but in reality IS a big deal. Although its not necessarily the first thing on a clothing brands check list, your packaging definitely does not deserve to be overlooked. Therefore, I thought I would share a sample with you guys that I have done this week in hopes of possibly inspiring you to get the ball rolling on your own personal packaging (if you haven't already done so). If you would like more information as far as pricing or more samples of the packaging we have recently worked on, send me an email: manny@wearmonstermash.com Just wanted to share this with you guys because I thought it came out rad!

Looks great, you know where they purchased the black mailers from?
  • Lion Caster

    Looks, good man.

However, labor + money to print on something that will end up in the trash = Labor and money in the trash...just my opinion though :)

it def does make a brand look good though. I guess there is going to be trash anyway..may as well make it purdy.
  • WEARMONSTERMASH

I agree with you, they ultimately do end up in the trash. But nonetheless, its a lot better than a flat rate envelope (which these guys were using prior to my intervention lol)

For a company just starting out it can be pricey and of course not in the budget, but for a company that is already established and looking to push the envelope (get it? haha), this is a great way to make a simple thing that much more awesome.

I've always wanted to incorporate mailer bags if I launched a brand. I end up keeping some that actually look good, think it's a professional touch. And I've seen a black and gold stripe one before somewhere the colours mesh perfectly! Sweet job man!

you can buy the blank mailers from uline.com those black bags(which i use) are pretty expensive but hold a ton of tees.
  • AngrySpade

You can find any color poly mailer you could ever want on eBay for super cheap, just search for it.

Usually its people selling their leftovers from Uline anyway
  • Remusecollective

I was able to fit a total of 8 tees in those mailers.

Looks great! What dimensions is that bag that holds 8 tees?
  • Soiree

8 tees? Holy crap, definitely going to look into this.
  • WEARMONSTERMASH

Yeah, the bags are huge. The dimensions are 12 x 15 1/2 inches. Thats the most common one that I use but they also come in 10 x 13 inches and a couple other sizes. Plus, they have different colors too which is rad.
  • david.s

soooo roughly what are we looking at in terms of pricing for those?

i would definitely be impressed if i received some t-shirts in those. it's a very nice touch
  • Poetic Rhythm

That's pretty cool! Am just amazed at the amount that fits. Thankx man!
  • suburbanhijinx

    Looks great!

Would you be able to print on smaller bags? approx 3" x 4" I'd like to get my logo and website on the bags i package my jewelry in.
  • WEARMONSTERMASH

Of course - send us an email: manny@wearmonstermash.com

the white ones are what i used to use and you can probably fit 4, maybe 5 shirts in tops. but, these bigger black ones and i believe the color ones are the same size do hold a ton of tees. i think i sent 3 XL shirts and a 2X hoodie in one before and have tossed in over 6 tees a bunch of times. if you can afford the bump up, its worth it but they are quite a bit more expensive than the white ones.

Yeah they are. The colored mailers alone average at about $0.40 cents each at a wholesale price. I think the white ones are a few cents cheaper. So yeah, the colored ones are a bit more expensive. Either way, when any mailer is customized it just gives your brand a more professional appearance. Most would say its too expensive for something that will get thrown away, but ultimately I think the customers would appreciate the fact that a company payed attention to the details, especially with the mailers. It just shows that the people behind the brand really care about improving the customers overall experience. I love when I get shit in the mail and the packaging looks awesome.
  • Thread Business

Looks totally rad. A job well done - I'd be pumped if I received that in the mail
