They also have a lion with glasses that looks quite a bit like Killbrand's.

    the dbh one is better?

I'm not sure that's a rip- it looks more like a case of being inspired by the same source (wherever that building image came from). Asian thing + red sun is a pretty typical motif.

Your version at Threadless was over 500 days ago, so unless it's been posted around more recently that would have been a lot of digging for a would-be thief to do (not impossible, just unlikely).

As far as the lion thing goes, if anything both are based on the Threadless design Lions Are Smarter Than I Am. But it's also possible that they were created without knowledge of it, because lions with glasses are fairly common. For instance, the mascot of my childhood bank was a lion with glasses.

I think MJ is about right, while it seems like an obvious rip sometimes, I can see how different artists have very similar ideas based around one theme.

this post is a rip of other rip posts and all the rip posts before that. just saying.

Not really a lot of digging, just be on here for like 7 months (and click on my pseudo I time):

Just found that he was here ahah

Anyway I'm not saying this is the best work ever, I agree with you guys (even there was something more in mine but we don't give a shit, it's old) but the composition, placement and even the colors are the same...

My point is more that you posted it over a year ago. So either he's going over a year back into the archives to dig for something to steal, or he didn't steal it from there.

To me, the main similarity is that you guys used different pictures of the same building.

That makes me wonder if that building photo was floating around somewhere (a resource blog, a vector pack, something similar) and you both just happened to use it with a red sun. Red suns and black and white, asian-style art are not unique enough elements to be convincing to me independent of other evidence, like suspicious timing, traced areas, or a track record of similar behavior.

yeah the building was totally a free vector, it's all the other things that are similar.

    But yeah maybe you're right.
    Anyway that's an old design.
    It's just I don't like that.
